Ryne Oshiro homered with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings before Oahu was eventually eliminated by Middle Atlantic, 9-8, in the United States’ semifinals of the Cal Ripken World Series on Friday night in Aberdeen, Md.

The game ended after midnight local time after a weather delay of over an hour in the first inning.

The Shockers trailed 8-2 before an RBI single by Matthew Inaba and a two-run double by Kyson Donahue cut the lead to 8-5 in the fourth.

The Shockers were down to their final two outs when Donahue hit a two-run homer in the sixth to pull within a run. After Middle Atlantic recorded the second out, Oshiro hit a solo homerun to left to force extra innings.

Middle Atlantic scored the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning on a passed ball.

Trevor Ichimura did his best to keep the Shockers in the game, pitching five scoreless innings after Oahu trailed 8-2.
