UH Softball: Rainbow Wahine run win streak to seven
University of Hawaii pitcher Kaia Parnaby struck out 12 and a fifth-inning rally powered the Rainbow Wahine softball team to a 4-0 win over East Carolina tonight.
Parnaby struck out two batters in each of the first five innings and completed her seventh shutout of the season. She posted double-digit strikeouts for the fifth time this season and the third time in her last five appearances.
East Carolina pitcher Sarah Christian kept UH off the scoreboard until the Wahine offense put together a four-run rally in the fifth. Keiki Carlos broke the shutout with an RBI single to score Brynne Buchanan. The ball was bobbled in center field allowing Kelly Majam to score as well.
Jessica Iwata followed with a run-scoring single to center and Leisha Li’ili’i’s double to right field extended the lead to 4-0.

The tournament also features No. 4/5 California, No. 15 Baylor and Syracuse.
