Ma, Oride, Lee lead OCC Invitational

Defending champion Matt Ma is tied for first with University of Hawaii golfers Cory Oride and Brian Lee after Thursday’s opening round of the 49th annual Oahu Country Club Men’s Invitational.

All three shot 2-under-par 69. Kai Hayashida is next, two shots back. Alika Bell, Bradley Shigezawa, Eric Sonnenberg, Kalena Preus and Todd Rego share fifth at 72.

Mervin Matsumoto leads the senior division after shooting 70.

The field will be cut after this morning’s second round. The final round is Saturday afternoon.
