Woman and police officer hurt in crash
Two people, including a Honolulu police officer, were hospitalized following a collision Monday morning on Puuloa Road near Wendy’s restaurant.
Police said a female driver, 46, blacked out, and her car hit the police officer’s vehicle on Puuloa Road at 7:10 a.m. The officer, 45, was hospitalized in serious condition, while the woman was listed in good condition, police said.
The officer was described as a 12-year HPD veteran assigned to the Kalihi patrol district.
Puuloa Road between Kilihau Street and Mapunapuna Place was closed for two hours while the accident was being investigated. Police investigators determined the woman’s vehicle, headed makai, sideswiped the officer’s subsidized vehicle, which was heading mauka.
Pedestrian hit by car is seriously injured
A woman in her 80s was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition Monday after she was hit by a car in McCully.
Emergency Medical Services reported the traffic accident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Young Street.
The car reportedly hit the pedestrian as she was crossing Young Street near Artesian Street.
Teen arrested for alleged BB gun threat
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy Sunday for allegedly threatening and shooting an older man with a BB gun in Wahiawa.
Police said two neighbors began arguing Sunday afternoon. When the argument escalated, the 15-year-old boy retrieved a BB gun and fired several times at the 53-year-old man.
The boy fled but was found and arrested on suspicion of first-degree threatening and first-degree reckless endangerment.
