In some ways, it felt like a win.
Hawaii’s baseball game against Gonzaga was rained out Sunday, giving the Rainbows a day off as they try to figure out a way to turn around the worst start to a season in program history.
UH (1-14) and Gonzaga (8-4-1) will play the final two games of the series as originally scheduled and not make up Sunday’s tilt.
Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:35.

Hawaii has 37 games remaining to try to avoid its worst year ever.
UH finished a record 24 games under .500 at 16-40 in 2002 — coach Mike Trapasso’s first season.
The Rainbows would need to go 14-23 or better the rest of the way to avoid that mark.
Gonzaga outscored UH 10-2 in the first two games of the series behind dominant pitching performances from left-handers Marco Gonzales and Tyler Olson.
The Rainbows have scored one run in each of their past three games and are hitting .216 as a team.
Not a single player with more than three at-bats is hitting better than .250.
Staff ace Scott Squier is expected to take the mound tonight for the Rainbows. He leads the team among active players with a 2.60 ERA, and opponents are hitting just .230 against him.
Individual ticket holders for Sunday’s game may use their ticket to attend a future game or exchange it for a refund.
This wasn’t the only UH event done in by the weather. The softball team got an unexpected break in its 10-day run of games. The three scheduled for the final day of the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament were rained out. The Rainbow Wahine were originally scheduled to face Portland State and East Carolina to close the tournament. Those games, along with a matchup between Portland State and East Carolina, will not be made up.
No. 21/24 UH (16-5) is scheduled to face Syracuse at 6 p.m. today in the second game of a doubleheader at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium, weather permitting. Syracuse plays Tokyo Women’s College of Physical Education at 4 p.m.
The Wahine then face East Carolina on Tuesday and open the four-day Chevron Spring Fling Tournament on Wednesday against Utah.
