Man, 21, charged in choking assault in Waimanalo
Prosecutors have charged a 21-year-old man with no local address for allegedly choking a 25-year-old woman in Waimanalo on Sunday evening.
Jesse Kalima IV was charged Tuesday with two counts of second-degree assault and felony abuse. His bail was set at $60,000.
Police said Kalima allegedly held the woman against her will from 6:30 p.m. Sunday to 6:25 a.m. Monday and allegedly choked her, impeding her breathing.
Police found Kalima Monday and arrested him without incident.
