KRC seeking tennis rackets for charity
Kailua Racquet Club is collecting used tennis rackets to donate to the Community Helping Schools program.
CHS is a non-profit organization — donations are tax-deductible — that encourages people to donate classroom resources to Oahu public schools. Its website (communityhelpingschools.org) advertises wish lists and helps donations get to the schools.
The club started collecting rackets at its annual Blue Moon Night Doubles tournament, which ended Saturday. The collection was inspired by the family of tennis player Donna Norton, which donated sports equipment to CHS in her name after her death. KRC has a pink basket in its clubhouse for rackets, which will be taken to CHS. For more information, contact Lynn Wells at 225-2350.
