Learn to use small spaces to grow food
If you want to grow your own food but don’t have much space, hope is not lost. Learn all about container gardening on a small lanai or kitchen window box Saturday at Geobunga locations.
Instructor Keola Kalama will discuss basic planting and harvesting and all the supplies necessary, including pots, topsoil, potting mixes and pre-planted herbs and vegetables.
Kalama will lead the workshop at 9 a.m. at Geobunga’s Salt Lake location, 4299 Lawehana St. (across from Target), then at 2 p.m. at its Waimanalo store, 41-829 Kakaina St.

Free seminar helps cultivate healthy eating

Golfing event will benefit foundation
Golfers who also love food will want to gather their buddies and enter the Hawaii Culinary Education Foundation Golf Tournament taking place April 22 at Kapolei Golf Course.
The benefit will feature food by Alan Wong’s, Tango Contempo Cafe, Roy’s Ko Olina, Side Street Inn, Sansei Seafood Restaurant, Murphy’s Bar & Grill, Tiki’s Grill and Bar, Jose’s Mexican Cafe & Cantina, Hokulani Bake Shop and HFM Foodservice.
The foundation brings local, mainland and international chefs into classrooms to work with culinary and chef instructors and their students.
