Moore places second in U.S. Open
Hawaii’s Carissa Moore made it to the final of the U.S. Open of Surfing on Sunday in Huntington Beach, Calif., but she fell to Lakey Peterson 10.90 to 8.64.
Moore is 19 and Peterson is 17.
The contest was the final stop on the Association of Surfing Professionals Women’s World Tour.
Moore finished in third place in the final tour standings after capturing the world title a year ago. Peterson finished seventh.
