Toilet-paper gown dresses bridal show
"The Bridal Event" will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Kahala Mall, highlighted by a toilet-paper wedding dress design contest and the opportunity to meet some of Hawaii’s top wedding vendors while enjoying food tastings, entertainment, in-store discounts, trunk shows and giveaways.

Pageant to feature theatrical contests
The Mr. and Miss Polynesia Pacific Pageant takes place Saturday at Leeward Community College Theater.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the lively, theatrical competition that includes costume and performance categories. The event will run from 5:30 to 10 p.m., for ages 12 and older. Tickets are $40 to $60 at www.mrandmisspolynesia.com. Information at 888-9640.
Sedona opens new store with festivities
Sedona, celebrating 25 years in Ward Centre, is reopening Saturday in a new, larger space next door to its previous location.
A grand-opening celebration will start with a Hawaiian blessing at 10 a.m., lion dance at 11 a.m. and free refreshments, psychic readings and chair massages from noon to 9 p.m.
The new store will feature expanded product lines in jewelry, women’s fashions, natural cosmetics, children’s books, accessories and home decor. An expanded Bead Bar includes space for jewelry classes and jewelry-making parties.
Two rooms downstairs will host psychic readings, astrological forecasting, palmistry, numerology, feng shui consultation and similar services, including phone and video Skype readings from anywhere in the world.
One of the longest tenants at Ward Centre, Sedona first opened its doors in 1988.
