Synthetic oil maker to sponsor 3 Las Vegas Bowls
LAS VEGAS >> Las Vegas Bowl officials say synthetic oil and lubricant maker Royal Purple will be the game’s title sponsor for at least the next three years.
ESPN Regional Television announced Wednesday in Las Vegas that the Dec. 21 event will be called the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl.
Bowl executive director Dan Hanneke says the afternoon game at Sam Boyd Stadium will feature a top Mountain West Conference team against the fifth-place finisher from the Pac-12. It’ll be televised on ABC.
More than 33,000 turned out for the 21st annual Las Vegas Bowl in 2012, when No. 15 Boise State beat Washington 28-26.
Royal Purple is based in Porter, Texas. It’s a subsidiary of Calumet Specialty Products Partners of Indianapolis.
