Grand jury issues indictment against man in shooting death of friend
An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday Teddy Munet with murder in connection with the shooting death of his friend William “Billy” Fallau.
Prosecutor Rodney Veary asked state Circuit Judge Richard Perkins to confirm the $2 million bail already imposed for the 29-year-old Munet, citing Munet’s criminal convictions for car break-in and auto theft, his possible gang affiliations and for the protection of the eyewitness to the murder.
Perkins instead reduced the bail to $1 million.
Hikers found Fallau’s body July 19 at the Kawainui State Park Reserve. Fallau, 29, died of a gunshot wound to the back of the neck.
