B.J. Penn part of new Ultimate Fighter show
The UFC announced that Hilo’s B.J. Penn will coach opposite Frankie Edgar on the next season of the Ultimate Fighter reality show scheduled to begin airing in January on FoxSports1.
The two will then fight at 145 pounds next April, marking Penn’s first UFC bout at featherweight.
Penn (16-9-2), a former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, is 1-4-1 in his last six fights.
He most recently lost a unanimous decision to Rory MacDonald last December.
Penn’s last four fights have been at 170 pounds.
Edgar ended Penn’s lightweight title reign in April of 2010 and won the rematch that August in convincing fashion.
