HPD’s new website is more user-friendly
The Honolulu Police Department announced Thursday it has launched a revamped website.
HPD has employed professionals to assist in making the site more user-friendly and streamlined to help users find what they are looking for.
The website now has a late-breaking news crawler, which was used Wednesday when police were looking for escaped murder suspect Teddy Munet.
The site will also connect with HPD’s Facebook page.
Police highlights — not only felonies, but smaller crimes that occur daily, such as thefts — are being featured to show the community what officers do to keep the community safe, said police Capt. Andrew Lum.
Policing information by community as well as contact information, including phone numbers and email capabilities, can be found on the site to improve HPD’s connection to the public.
Users can also watch informational videos that inform the public about the Police Department.
