The truck’s driver and two passengers were uninjured.
Korinko was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center, where she died.
Man charged in homicide due in court
A 36-year-old man suspected of assaulting and killing a man in Kalihi two months ago is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday in District Court.
Reuben Silva made his initial court appearance Tuesday. His bail remains set at $250,000.
He was charged Monday with manslaughter.
Silva was arrested Sunday in Waipahu on suspicion of second-degree murder after he allegedly assaulted James Simon on Jan. 20 on King Street in Kalihi. The 27-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries. Police said he died Feb. 18.
The Medical Examiner’s Office and said the victim died of head injuries caused when he fell on a hard surface, and ruled the manner of death a homicide.
A court document said witnesses reported Silva appeared angry as he looked for Simon. One witness saw him hit Simon, who "appeared unconscious as he fell to the ground."
Another witness confronted Silva when he saw Simon lying in the street, and Silva responded, "That’s what you get when you lie — you get cracks," the court document said.
