An impending sale may affect 49 non-union jobs at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Hawaii island.

The hotel employs 315 people, 266 of whom are represented by UNITE HERE Local 5. Their jobs would transfer to any new management company under the current collective bargaining agreement.

Forty-nine employees are not covered by the union contract, according to a notice filed by the hotel management company with the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Monday evening.

The ownership change may take effect as early as May 3, but as late as May 17, according to the notice.
