Hawaii County police charged a Honomu man with second-degree murder for a fatal stabbing Sunday morning in a Honomu home.

Daniel Schuster, 49, was also charged Monday with promoting a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia. He was in the Hilo police cellblock Tuesday, unable to post $54,000 bail.

 Police responded to a home on Pua Street at 6:18 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Police and Fire Department personnel discovered Joshua Earl Trickel, 30, of Honomu, inside the home with injuries and no apparent signs of life. Police arrested Schuster at the home.
