Students, families invited to learn about UH-Manoa
Students of all ages and their families can learn about academics, campus activities and student services during an open house at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The Manoa Experience 2013 will be held along McCarthy Mall.There will be cultural demonstrations from the School of Pacific & Asian Studies, a presentation on careers in science, tours of the School of Nursing’s state-of-the-art Translational Health Science Simulation Center, performances by student groups, lab tours at the College of Engineering and more.

Kamehameha Schools hosts annual Ho‘olaule‘a
Kamehameha Schools will celebrate Hawaiian culture at its 83rd annual Ho‘olaule‘a, featuring entertainment by Taimane Gardner, Napua Greig, Ben and Malia, Kapena and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
The free event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the Kapalama campus. Grinds include Hawaiian and Korean plates, barbecue meat sticks, malasadas and the popular Kamehameha Schools brownies. Younger keiki can enjoy the inflatables, slides, rides and crafts, while others can shop in the country store, buy haku lei, pick up plants and bid in the silent auction.
Proceeds from the event, sponsored by the Kamehameha Schools Association of Teachers & Parents, fund school enrichment programs.
