ATLANTA >> Augusta National Golf Club is trying to block the sale of one of its iconic green jackets.

A golf memorabilia collector in Tampa, Fla., attempted to sell a past champion’s jacket in February, but that sale was halted when Augusta National asserted ownership of all of the jackets.

The golf club claims the jacket was stolen from their clubhouse.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for Monday in a Dallas district courtroom.

The collector, Stephen Pyles, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the jackets sell for tens of thousands of dollars.

Pyles purchased the jacket through an online auction company and is attempting to sell it through Heritage Auctions of Dallas.
