UH basketball team gets first 2014 commitment
Delaware native Isaac Fleming became the first known verbal commitment of the Hawaii men’s basketball team’s 2014 recruiting class Saturday.
Fleming, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard, told the Star-Advertiser he chose UH over Murray State and Wake Forest. He had visits scheduled for those schools but decided to make his decision early after visiting Manoa in late August.
He will have four years of eligibility starting in the fall of 2014.
"Feels good to be part of the ohana," he said in a phone interview.
Fleming is a senior at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia and plays for the Team Loaded AAU squad. He is listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com.
He can sign a binding national letter of intent in November.
