Suspect sought in recycling center robbery
Police are asking the public’s help in finding a man who robbed the Reynolds Recycling station in Nanakuli last week.
The suspect, who had a handgun, approached a Reynolds employee at 8:56 a.m. June 19 and demanded money at the recycling center at 89-102 Farrington Highway, police said.
CrimeStoppers and police described the man as in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a hooded blue shirt, light blue shorts and black shoes.

Husband arrested in threats on wife
A 44-year-old Wahiawa man was arrested Monday night after he broke into his estranged wife’s home in Kapolei and threatened her with a knife, police said.
The 46-year-old woman moved out of the couple’s home and was granted a protective order after reporting several instances of physical abuse, police said. The man allegedly called her on the phone on June 16 and later entered her home and threatened her, police said.
He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening and three counts of violating a protective order.
Inmate fails to return from work furlough
Police were looking for a 35-year-old inmate who escaped Tuesday from the Oahu Community Correctional Center Laumaka Work Furlough Center.
Police said Gary Tinao Jr. finished work at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday and was scheduled to return to Laumaka, but did not. He was reported as an escapee at 3:30 a.m.
Tinao is described as 5 feet 9 and 164 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
