That compares to a national average increased premium of $988, up 9 percent from $909 before filing a claim.
Minnesota and Connecticut residents pay an average of 21 percent more after filing a claim, up to $1,189 from $981 in Minnesota, and $1,269, up from $1,052 in Connecticut, the analysis found. Homeowners in Texas saw no increases after filing claims, while New York homeowners paid 1 percent more, or $1,055, up from $1,044.
