Garrett McNamara, 45, of Haleiwa is reported to have broken his own record at Nazaré, Portugal with a ride Monday atop a 100-foot monster wave at the same location, according to The Portugal News.
The record-setting ride awaits confirmation by officials, but if validated would surpass McNamara’s 2011 ride atop a 78-foot wave recorded by Guiness World Records.
McNamara thanked his followers in a Tweet Monday. “Thank you for all your support. It means the world to me. Today was an awesome day and so fun to be out there…”
