Sans Souci snorkeler dies at hospital
A man in his 20s who got in trouble while snorkeling off Sans Souci Beach Wednesday died Friday.
He was taken in critical condition to a nearby hospital, where police said his condition worsened and he died.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the man and will perform an autopsy Monday.
5 arrested in Pupukea on drug charges
Five men were arrested on felony marijuana charges at a Pupukea address Friday morning after officers from the Honolulu Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice Division found what appeared to be numerous marijuana plants both indoors and in the yard of the property.
Three of those arrested, ages 28, 40 and 55, identified themselves as occupants of the Wehiwa Place address. The two other men arrested, ages 24 and 32, listed no local address.
All were arrested on counts of first-degree promotion of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia. Three of the men also were arrested for contempt of court.
Police entered the home after executing a search warrant.
Police apprehend 2 in drug-gambling raid
Fourteen electronic gambling machines were seized by Honolulu police along with $4,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia at a Queen Street address Thursday night.
Two people were arrested on outstanding traffic warrants and 11 other people were detained during the search at 832 Queen St. at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday by officers from the District 1 Crime Reduction Unit and the Specialized Services Division.
Also seized were crystal methamphetamine glass pipes, baggies with residue, and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
