Despite receiving first-place votes for the first time this season, Hawaii remained at No. 6 in today’s AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 volleyball poll.

The Rainbow Wahine (13-1) were among the seven teams to split the 60 votes from the coaches, with new No. 1 Washington (10-0) receiving 38 when moving up a spot.

USC (12-1, 12 votes) jumped over Florida (13-1, 2 votes) from fourth into second with the Gators remaining at No. 3.

Texas (8-2, 2 votes) moved up a spot to No. 4 followed by previous No. 1 Penn State (10-2, 1 vote) which was upset at home Friday by former No. 15 Michigan State (13-1, 2 votes). The Spartans moved into the Top 10 for the first time this season to No. 9.

Stanford (9-3) remained at No. 7 with Minnesota (14-1) moving up a spot to No. 8. Rounding at the Top 10 was Nebraska (9-2), which moved up two spots.

The biggest drop within last week’s Top 10 was San Diego (9-3), the only team to beat Hawaii this season. The Toreros fell from No. 8 to 13 after being upset at home by unranked Saint Mary’s in five sets.

Hawaii takes an 11-match win streak on the road this week with Big West matches Friday at Long Beach State (8-7, 1-1 BWC) and Saturday at UC Irvine (0-7, 0-2 BWC). The Rainbow Wahine (2-0 BWC) began defense of their conference crown with sweeps over Cal State Fullerton (7-6, 0-1 BWC) and UC Riverside (1-2, 0-1 BWC) last week.
