Hawaii Hilo edges Fresno Pacific

Kirsty Imai scored 16 points to lead Hawaii Hilo to a 54-52 victory over the Fresno Pacific women on Monday in Fresno, Calif.

Kamie Imai added 14 points for the Vulcans (6-6, 3-3).

Keairra White had a game-high 17 points for the Sunbirds (0-14, 0-7).

» In the men’s game in Fresno, Calif., the Vulcans defeated the Sunbirds 109-88.

Matt Samuels notched 25 points for Fresno Pacific (9-6, 4-3) and Antonio Credit grabbed 10 rebounds.

CJ Brown scored 18 points to lead Hawaii Hilo (3-11, 1-5).

Chaminade men edge Hawaii Pacific

Bennie Murray scored a game-high 24 points and hauled in five rebounds to lead Chaminade over Hawaii Pacific 72-69 in a men’s game Monday at Moanalua High School.

Sophomore forward Mike Green added 17 points for the Silverswords (7-7, 4-2).

Jelany White led HPU (5-7, 2-3) with 16 points.

» In the women’s game, Hawaii Pacific got 24 points from Susannah Wamsley in an 85-71 win over Chaminade at Moanalua. Mikela Thoemmes added 21 points for the Sea Warriors (8-3, 4-1).

Dianna Zane led the way for the Silverswords (1-10, 1-6) with 22 points.

Dominican halts Brigham Young-Hawaii

Brigham Young-Hawaii dropped an 80-75 decision to Dominican (Calif.) on Monday in San Rafael, Calif.

Junior Ale posted a double-double for the Seasiders (7-6, 4-1) with 14 points and 10 boards.

Jammaal Clark scored 13 points to lead the Penguins (8-6, 4-2).

MEN’S HONOR ROLL

Junior Ale, BYUH: The senior guard out of Kahuku scored 21 points with five rebounds and three assists in the Seasiders’ 107-70 win over Academy of Art.

Lee Bailey, CU: The sophomore guard helped the Silverswords go 2-0 last week, averaging 18 points and going 17-for-18 from the line.

C.J. Brown, UHH: The senior guard scored 21 points, going 7-for-9 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the line, in the Vulcans’ 91-86 victory over Holy Names.

Pablo Coro, BYUH: The sophomore guard scored 17 points, hitting five of six 3-point attempts as the Seasiders defeated the Urban Knights.

Marko Cukic, HPU: The senior center scored 30 points with 16 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Sea Warriors.

De’Andre Haskins, CU: The senior guard scored 34 points with 16 rebounds as the Silverswords went 2-0.

Bennie Murray, CU: The senior guard helped the Silverswords win both games last week, scoring 38 points with 10 rebounds, five assists and no turnovers in 71 minutes.

Kiel Myers, UHH: The senior forward scored 24 points with five rebounds to help the Vulcans win their first conference game of the season, a 91-86 win over Holy Names.

WOMEN’S HONOR ROLL

Danna Lynn Hooper, BYUH: The junior guard out of Molokai High scored 23 points, going 6-for-6 from the line with three 3-pointers, in an 85-80 loss to Academy of Art.

Brydgette Tatupu-Leopoldo, BYUH: The sophomore guard finished with a double-double (18 points, 10 assists) with seven rebounds in the Seasiders’ loss to the Urban Knights.

Susannah Walmsey, HPU: The senior guard led the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week, scoring a combined 32 points with six steals.

Shayla Washington, BYUH: The senior forward turned in a double-double (11 points, 17 rebounds) in the loss to Academy of Art.
