Summer cycling event in Kalihi
Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange kicks off its "Summer of Cycling" on June 16 at the KVIBE warehouse at 1638 Kamehameha IV Road.
The "Aloha Saturday" event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features bike polo exhibitions, a best-in-show contest and GoldSprint races where participants race stationary bikes with computer-generated data projected on a screen.

North Shore Triathlon coming up
Late entries are being accepted for the Bikefactory North Shore Triathlon on June 17.
The event starts at 6 a.m. at Mokuleia Beach Park. The course is a 400-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride and 3-mile run. Fees are $100 for individuals and $145 for teams.
Defending champions are Tim Marr (50 minutes, 4 seconds) and Natallia Kravchuck (58:50).

Roxy Waikiki Classic at Queen’s
The Roxy Waikiki Classic, an all-women’s amateur surfing festival designed for all skill levels, is scheduled for June 16 and 17 off Queen’s Beach.
Competition in five divisions starts at age 6 and runs through 30-plus in longboards and shortboards. There is no entry fee.
A companion ASP 1-star women’s pro longboard qualifier that features Kelia Moniz, Chloe Calmon, Vanina Walsh and Jennifer Smith. The event is open to ASP members with a $2,000 purse. Surfing begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.

Bodybuilding, lifting at expo
Guest power lifter Josh Jaggers and national bodybuilder Matt Mendrum headline next week’s The Big Boys Toys & MMA Hawaii Expo at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
Hawaii Body Building also is sponsoring a "Surf Shorts and Bikini Competition" for men, women and teenagers on June 16.
The expo runs from 5 to 10 p.m. next Friday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 16, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17. General admission is $35 and VIP admission, which includes competition fee, is $50.
