Ice discovery puts couple in Hilo cellblock
A Hawi man and woman were charged with drug counts Wednesday after Hawaii County police served a search warrant and found crystal methamphetamine at their house.
Steven Pang, 46, was charged with first-degree meth trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $52,000.
Nicole Hayes, 26, was charged with third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $4,000. Both were being held in the Kona police cellblock pending a court appearance today.
On Tuesday, officers from the Area II Vice Section, along with community-policing officers and North Kohala patrol officers served a search warrant on a home on Hiwahiwa Street. Police said they recovered 120 grams of a crystalline substance and paraphernalia associated with methamphetamine use and distribution.
Maintenance will cut water in Kahului
Some Kahului residents will be without water when Maui Department of Water Supply personnel work on main line repairs for preventive maintenance from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
During the project, customers will be without water on Holua Drive from Kea Street to the south intersection of Lalani Circle; Naholo Circle from Holua Drive to Ikai Street; and Lalani Circle from Holua Drive to Puolo Place.
Customers may want to flush their waterlines for a short time on Friday afternoon to ensure that no sediment has accumulated during the project. If water problems occur, customers are asked to call the 24-hour service line at 270-7633.
