When Oahu Country Club head pro Andrew Feldmann and Hawaii Golf Hall of Famer Larry Stubblefield won the Kaanapali Pro-Pro Championship on Monday it was their 10th title together.
The two have won the Pro-Pro twice — six years apart — and captured the Big Island Candies Scotch 4-Ball once. At OCC, where Stubblefield is a member, they have won seven Nike Golf/Golf Concepts 4-Ball Match Play titles.
At Kaanapali, Feldmann and Stubblefield overcame the opening round 61 by Maui’s Kyle Hayashi and David Braxton to win by one with rounds of 65-67 — two-putting the last hole for par.
The winning team split $3,000. The better-ball format drew 34 teams and an $11,000 purse. Kevin Shimomura aced Royal Kaanapali’s 193-yard eighth hole Monday using a 4-iron.
A field of 32, including Hall of Famers David Ishii, Dan Nishimoto and Kevin Hayashi, tees off at 10 a.m. next Sunday (June 17, 2012) at Kaanapali in the U.S. Senior Open qualifier.
