Coast Guard searches for missing Hawaii island fisherman
The Coast Guard is continuing its search for a Hawaii island fisherman who was swept out to sea while casting nets on Saturday.
Caesare Moses, 30, was throwing nets off South Point with a friend on Saturday when he was swept out by a large wave around 2:50 p.m. Friends tried to throw him a flotation device but were unsuccessful, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department.
Moses was last seen about 200 yards off-shore and drifting west.
Air and water searches by Coast Guard and fire rescue personnel Saturday and Sunday were unable to locate the missing fisherman.
A Coast Guard spokesman said the search will continue through Monday if necessary.
