UH women’s basketball team beats LIU-Brooklyn
The Hawaii women’s basketball team committed only four turnovers and defeated LIU-Brooklyn 52-33 on Friday night to open the Bank of Hawaii Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Junior forward Kamilah Martin had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead the Rainbow Wahine (3-6), who hadn’t played an official game in 27 days. Junior forward Diane Moore added 10 points.
Both teams shot under 30 percent from the field, but UH earned 27 more field-goal attempts thanks mostly to a 21-4 disparity in turnovers.
UH continues the round-robin tourney vs. Cincinnati (7-4) on Saturday at 5 p.m.
