Bed Bath & Beyond will open its second Oahu location at Ward Centre, in the former Borders Books & Music space on the Diamond Head end of the complex this fall.
The two-story, 30,000-square-foot space will be stocked with BB&B’s well-known selection of home goods for bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and more.
"With Bed Bath & Beyond joining Ward Centers, and the recent opening of T.J.Maxx at the newly completed Ward Village Shops, the opportunities are endless for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy the various shops, restaurants and entertainment options in the area," said Bobbie Lau, Ward Centers general manager.
Borders Group Inc. launched close-out sales last July at all 399 of its stores nationwide, including the six in Hawaii, after bankruptcy court approval of the company’s request to liquidate assets after it failed to find a buyer.
The first floor of the space was occupied from October through the holiday season by a temporary Toys R Us Express store.
Ward Centers is populated with more than 120 shops, 22 restaurants, sidewalk cafes and other types of eateries within the four blocks that make up the complex.
Hawaii’s first Bed Bath & Beyond opened in August 2010 in the 65,000-square-foot former Circuit City building at Pearlridge Center.
