Hawaii has among fewest rejected health claims
Hawaii has among the lowest rates of health insurance claims being rejected, according to analysis firm HealthPocket Inc.
An average of 5 percent of health insurance claims in Hawaii are rejected, compared to a national average declination rate of 22 percent.
Hawaii’s low rate compares to Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Vermont, the five states with 0 percent declination rates.
States with the highest declination rates, meanwhile, are Montana 45 percent, Alabama, 40 percent, Wash., D.C., 37 percent; Arkansas, 35 percent, Alaska, 34 percent; New Mexico, 30 percent; Maryland, 29 percent; and Delaware and W. Va., at 27 percent.
