>> Nevada sophomore Kewby Meyer (Kamehameha ’11) was named to the College Sports Madness All-Mountain West Conference preseason second team as an infielder. As a freshman, Meyer hit .324 in 56 games with nine doubles and 34 RBIs.
>> Northern Colorado outfielder Jensen Park (‘Iolani ’11) was named to the College Sports Madness All-Great West Conference preseason first team as an outfielder, while teammate Ryan Yamane (Punahou ’11) was named to the second team. Park hit .363 with 10 doubles, seven triples and 38 RBIs as a freshman, and Yamane hit .316 with 13 doubles and 45 runs scored.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
>> Baruch (N.Y.) College junior guard Matt Feldman (Punahou ’10) shot 5-for-8 from the field and had 16 points, four assists and three rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench to help the Bearcats beat Lehman College 78-69 last Wednesday.
>> La Verne sophomore guard Jourdan Simmonds (‘Iolani ’11) had eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal, and Josiah Sukumaran (‘Iolani ’11) had four points, two rebounds and a steal in a 90-66 win over Caltech on Thursday.
>> Notre Dame de Namur sophomore Micah Dunhour (Academy of the Pacific ’11) had a team-high 15 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a 73-56 loss to BYU-Hawaii on Saturday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
>> Utah senior guard Iwalani Rodrigues (Kalani ’08) played 39 minutes and was 6-for-11 from the field to finish with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 66-46 win over Arizona State on Sunday to give the Utes their first Pac-12 win of the season.
>> Washington State guard Lia Galdeira (Konawaena ’12) had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 79-72 loss to Washington on Sunday.
>> Cal State Northridge senior forward Violet Alama (Kalani ’09) had nine points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in a 60-51 loss to Pacific on Saturday.
>> Willamette (Ore.) forward Julia Brand (Punahou ’11) finished with 11 points and three rebounds and Daena Mau (Punahou ’11) added three points, three rebounds and an assist in a 69-50 loss to Whitworth (Wash.) on Friday.
MEN’S GYMNASTICS
>> Oklahoma freshman Joshua Yee (Thompson Academy ’12) led the Sooners with a 14.600 on the parallel bars to finish in fourth place in a quad meet on Saturday against Stanford, California and Nebraska. Yee also scored a 14.350 on the vault and floor exercise to help Oklahoma finish second.

>> Arizona State senior Kahoku Palafox (Maryknoll ’08) scored a meet-high 9.875 on the bars to help the Sun Devils defeat Sacramento State and San Jose State in a meet on Friday. Palafox also scored a 9.725 on the beam.
>> Cornell junior Mackenzie Sato (‘Iolani ’10) earned a 9.725 on the floor exercise event in a meet on Saturday with Maryland, Pittsburgh and Temple.
>> UC Davis sophomore Tiana Montell (St. Joseph ’11) earned a 9.725 on the vault and the uneven bars in a meet against Washington, California and illinois on Friday.
MEN’S SOCCER
>> Louisville defender Brock Granger, a 2009 ‘Iolani graduate, was selected in the third round (No. 50 overall) by Real Salt Lake in the 2013 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft on Tuesday.
Granger is expected to join Real Salt Lake’s preseason camp in Casa Grande, Ariz., this week.
The three-time, first-team All-ILH honoree transferred to Louisville after his freshman year at UNLV and made 64 appearances with 58 starts for the Cardinal.
For his college career, Granger played in 82 matches — 66 starts — with one goal and seven assists.
MEN’S SWIMMING
>> Willamette (Ore.) freshman Kulananalu Tarnas (Hawaii Prep ’12) finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (52.69) and 50 free (24.42) and teammate Andrew Lum (Punahou ’12) finished second in the 200 individual medley (2:16.40) and third in the 200 butterfly (2:18.02) to lead the Bearcats to a win over Lewis & Clark on Saturday.

>> Willamette (Ore.) senior Kayla Kosaki (Waiakea ’09) finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:25.85) and fourth in the 50 freestyle (27.51), and freshman Malia Santos (Kealakehe ’12) was third in the 50 free (26.67) and fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:29.27) in a loss to Lewis & Clark on Saturday.
>> Loyola Marymount senior Noelani Vargas (Hawaii Prep ’09) finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:06.45) and sixth in the 100 backstroke (1:01.33) at the Beach Cup on Saturday.
WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
>> Charleston Southern sophomore Joshlyn Noga (Kahuku ’11) made the finals in both the weight throw and shot put in the season-opening indoor meet over the weekend. She threw 46 feet, 9.75 inches in the weight throw to place sixth and had a personal-best 45 feet, 7.25 inches in the shot put to finish third. That throw was only an inch off the school record and the ninth-best throw ever in Big South Conference history.
>> Rice junior Farah Madanay (Punahou ’09) finished 11th in the 1-mile run with a time of 5 minutes, 19.02 seconds at the University of Houston’s Leonard Hilton Classic on Friday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
>> Long Beach State junior Taylor Crabb (Punahou ’10) hit .298 with a match-high 22 kills, nine digs, four block assists, an ace and a solo block in a five-set victory over Hawaii on Friday.
>> USC sophomore Micah Christenson (Kamehameha ’11) had a match-high 39 assists, eight digs, three block assists and two kills, and Ben Lam (Punahou ’11) hit .385 with six kills, two block assists and an assist in a three-set sweep of Stanford on Friday. Sophomore Scott Sakaida (‘Iolani ’10) had four digs and an assist for the Cardinal.
