Tip from 8-year-old girl helps police find missing woman
Thanks to a tip, a formerly missing 83-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s Disease has been found, Honolulu CrimeStoppers and police said today.
Police issued a CrimeStoppers bulletin Friday for Moiliili resident Helen Romero,83, who had been missing since she was last seen at the Kalihi-Palama Health Center about 7:20 a.m. on Monday.
On Friday night at about 7:20 p.m., an 8-year-old girl recognized Romero from news reports, police said. The girl’s mother looked up Romero’s picture using her smart phone and was able to identify her and call police, who safely returned Romero to her care home.
