Small fire displaces Kuliouou woman

A fire investigator is trying to determine the cause of a small house fire that displaced a woman in Kuliouou Valley.

Firefighters initially called two alarms for the 2:22 p.m. fire Sunday on Kalaau Place because smoke was visible, but quickly brought the flames down, said Honolulu fire Capt. Robert Main. About 18 firefighters contained the fire to one of the home’s three bedrooms and had the blaze under control by 2:33 p.m., Main said.

A woman in her 30s who was displaced was being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Damage was estimated at $11,000 to the structure and contents.

No one was injured.
