Two beauty-world heavyweights, Kate Somerville and Kimora Lee Simmons, are returning to Honolulu for Nordstrom’s Cosmetic Trend Event beginning at 7:30 a.m. May 26.
Early reservations are a must for the annual event, which draws audiences of 500 people who get up early for a peek at the latest products to add to their beauty routines.
Tickets are $15 at Nordstrom cosmetic counters for the Trend Show, which runs from 8 to 9 a.m., and the cost is redeemable toward cosmetics purchases of $15 or more on the day of the event. Attendees will also receive a gift, while supplies last.
Also making appearances will be Francine Porter, creator of Osmotics Cosmeceuticals, and two former regulars on the “Oprah” show: Dr. Harold Lancer of Lancer Skin Care, and Bob Greene, author of “20 Years Younger,” which promotes healthful dietary, skin-care and lifestyle regimens.
There will also be demonstrations of the Clarisonic skin cleansing system, as well as the introduction of Giorgio Armani Beaute to Nordstrom’s cosmetics offerings.
After the show, shoppers are invited to visit the cosmetics department to speak to visiting guests and makeup artists, sample new products, watch demonstrations and get makeovers.
Simmons, star of the Style Network’s “Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane” and author of “Fabulosity: What It Is and How to Get It,” will introduce her new Shinto Clinical line of anti-aging beauty products ($32 to $68), which draw from her Asian heritage and her grandmother’s recipes for luminous skin that included such ingredients as pearl powder, kelp and mushrooms.
Somerville, a paramedical esthetician, will introduce her DermalQuench Liquid Lift ($95). The founder of Kate Somerville Skin Care Experts Clinic was known for her work with Hollywood stars before replicating her clinic’s treatments for home use. Her DermalQuench Liquid Lift uses hyaluronic acid and botanical extracts to provide long-lasting hydration.
After her formal presentation, she’ll be on the cosmetics floor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., where free DermalQuench Oxygen and Hydrating Treatments will be performed by appointment only. Call 953-6100 to book.
Also call to reserve an appointment with Porter at the Osmotics counter from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
