Right-hander Robert Kahana (Campbell ’11) pitched 1⅓ shutout innings with one walk and one strikeout.
» Loyola Marymount junior outfielder Zac Fujimoto (Maryknoll ’08) scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning and finished 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 5-4 victory over Gonzaga in the opener of a three-game series on Friday.
» San Jose State freshman right-hander Kalei Contrades (Saint Louis ’11) pitched a total of three innings in two games against Sacramento State, allowing one run on two hits with no walks and five strikeouts as the Spartans lost two of three in the series.
» UNLV senior shortstop Danny Higa (Saint Louis ’08) went 6-for-11 with a double, two runs and two RBIs as the Rebels lost all three games against New Mexico over the weekend.
» Pacific (Ore.) senior first baseman Mike Nagamine (Mid-Pacific ’08) singled and scored twice and right fielder Nick Tasaka (Mid-Pacific ’09) hit an RBI double and walked three times in the Boxers’ 9-5 win over Pacific Lutheran to clinch a share of their first Northwest Conference championship since 1979.
» Northern Colorado freshman Jensen Park (‘Iolani ’11) went 4-for-12 with three walks, three RBIs and a stolen base and Ryan Yamane (Punahou ’11) went 3-for-9 with a double, two runs and three RBIs as the Bears split a four-game series with North Dakota over the weekend.
» Northwestern (Minn.) College junior Zach Markwith (Saint Louis ’09) went 2-for-8 with a run scored and stolen base and Taylor Kauweloa (Damien ’10) was 1-for-7 with a stolen base, run and RBI as the Eagles swept a doubleheader against Finlandia University last Wednesday.

» Brigham Young first baseman Katie Manuma (Campbell ’10) went 3-for-11 with two doubles to help the Cougars earn a three-game sweep of San Jose State over the weekend.
» Washington freshman Kimberlee Souza (‘Iolani ’11) went 2-for-8 with a solo home run but the Huskies were swept in a three-game series by Arizona State over the weekend.
» St. Martin’s (Wash.) junior Joslyn Eugenio (Sacred Hearts ’09) singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning of an 11-8 win over Montana State Billings last Thursday in the second game of a doubleheader. Eugenio had three hits, including a three-run homer, in a 5-3 win in the first game.

» Haverford (Pa.) College junior Kevin Caulfield (Punahou ’09) was named the Centennial Conference men’s tennis player of the week last Tuesday. Caulfield won twice at No. 1 singles and three times at No. 1 doubles to help the Fords go 3-0 for the week.

» Southern Cal redshirt junior Abe Markowitz (Punahou ’08) finished third in the shot put (15.82 meters) and fourth in the discus (44.14) in a dual meet against UCLA on Sunday.
» Occidental (Calif.) sophomore Jonathan Padron (Damien ’10) repeated as league champion in the 100 meters, finishing first in 10.58 seconds at the SCIAC championships on Friday.
» Azusa Pacific senior Javen Correia (Maryknoll ’08) tied a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles in the preliminaries and finished third in the finals in 14.8 seconds at the Golden State Athletic Conference championships on Saturday.

» Dartmouth (N.H.) junior Joy Piotrowski (Punahou ’09) finished sixth in the triple jump at 34 feet, 9 inches and sixth in the long jump (16-10) at the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
» Stanford senior Brad Lawson (‘Iolani ’08) hit .315 with a team-high 23 kills and 11 digs, and libero Erik Shoji (Punahou ’08) had 12 digs and two assists in a heart-breaking five-set loss to UC Irvine in the championship game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation playoffs on Saturday.
Lawson finished his career with 1,828 kills and 128 service aces, which is the most ever at Stanford in the rally-scoring area. Shoji ended his career as a four-time All-American with 1,402 digs, which is the most in NCAA history.
» Southern California freshman Micah Christenson (Kamehameha ’11) had 31 assists, 11 digs and two blocks and Maddison McKibbin (Punahou ’09) had two kills, three digs and two block assists in a five-set loss to UC Irvine on Thursday in the MPSF semifinals. Henry Cassiday (Punahou ’10) added seven digs and four assists for the Trojans, who earned an at-large berth to the NCAA final four this week.
» Brigham Young senior middle Futi Tavana (Kauai ’05) hit .421 with nine kills, six block assists and three digs and freshman libero Jaylen Reyes (Kamehameha ’11) had a match-high 16 digs and two assists in a four-set loss to Stanford in the MPSF semifinals on Thursday.
» Harvard sophomore Will Chambers (‘Iolani ’10) was named to the EIVA All-Academic team last Wednesday. Chambers leads the Crimson with 0.83 blocks per set and has 112 kills in 21 matches.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
» Villanova junior Hannah Ishida (Punahou ’09) was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference all-tournament team and earned first-team all-conference and all-academic honors over the weekend. She registered one goal, one assist, a field block and drew five ejections in two tournament loses as the Wildcats finished fourth.
» Redlands (Calif.) junior Moana Tuipulotu (Lahainaluna ’09) scored four goals in a heart-breaking 12-11 loss to Pomona-Pitzer in the championship game of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Sunday. She scored twice, including the game-winner with 3:15 remaining, in a 7-6 win over Occidental (Calif.) in the semifinals on Saturday. Junior Nanea Fujiyama (Kamehameha ’09) led the Tigers with a game-high three goals.
» Cal Lutheran freshman Kehau Ai (Kamehameha ’11) scored nine goals in the SCIAC tournament, including two in a 10-6 win over Whittier (Calif.) to finish fifth.
» Cal State Bakersfield junior Paige Tsuruda (Word of Life ’10) scored once in a 7-6 overtime victory over Colorado State to finish fifth in the Western Water Polo Association tournament on Sunday.
» Harvard junior Aisha Price (Punahou ’09) scored three goals and Shayna Price (Punahou ’10) added one in an 11-3 victory over Bucknell to finish seventh at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Eastern Division championships on Sunday.
» Notre Dame (Ohio) freshman Gina-Bella Mata’afa (Lahainaluna ’11) earned the Falcons’ first CWPA honor in program history after her selection as rookie of the week for April 23. Mata’afa is third on the team with 29 goals in Notre Dame’s first season as a member of the CWPA. Mata’afa scored 11 goals in three games leading into last weekend’s CWPA Eastern championships.
