Oahu traffic signal upgrade coming
Traffic signal controls on Oahu are to receive an upgrade at about 800 intersections so that the island-wide system runs on the same software, according to McCain Inc., the California-based company that received the contract in partnership with Phoenix Pacific.
The upgrade to Program 233 from Program 200 will increase functionality by providing additional features and coordination parameters, the company said, in a statement.
The benefits to having the entire island’s traffic signals operating on the same software “are countless,” said Brian Wagner, McCain ITS solutions manager.
