HPU sweeps Chaminade in softball
Breanne Patton scattered seven hits as Hawaii Pacific beat Chaminade 6-0 on Sunday in the first game of a softball doubleheader at Okita Field. Maile Kim had three hits and drove in three runs for HPU.
In the second game, Sea Warriors third baseman Caira Pires hit a home run and Patton drove in four runs to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 10-2 victory.
HPU improved to 32-18 overall and 24-10 in the Pacific West Conference. Chaminade dropped to 15-32 and 9-25.
Hawaii Pacific tennis team advances
The Hawaii Pacific women’s tennis team, seeded second in the NCAA Division II West Regional, defeated No. 3 Grand Canyon 5-1 on Sunday at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex.
With the win, HPU secured a berth into the national championship round of 16 and will face the Central Region champion on May 16 in Louisville, Ky.
