Moanalua High School is among the high schools nationwide that have made it into the finals of the VANS Custom Culture competition, which invites high school students across the United States to embrace creativity.
Voting for the winning school is taking place online at www.vans.com/customculture for the chance to win $50,000 for the students’ high school art program. The winning school’s four designs will be available at stores later this year.
Out of 1,000 submissions, only the top 50 made it to the public vote, with five regional winners to be selected. Hawaii is included in the Southwest region. The five winning schools will be granted a travel budget for a showcase in Los Angeles, where celebrity judges will help pick the winner. The four runners-up will receive $4,000 for their school. Voting closes May 3.
