Firefighters have Hawaiian Monarch Hotel fire under control within minutes
A fire broke out in a fourth-floor laundry room of Waikiki’s Hawaiian Monarch Hotel Sunday night but firefighters had it under control five minutes after they arrived, Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
The fire was reported at 7:18 p.m. and the first firefighters arrived at 7:22 p.m.
The fire was extinguished at 7:40 p.m., Seelig said.
There was no immediate estimate on the amount of damage.
