Good Samaritan aids female hiker in Makiki
A good Samaritan helped firefighters rescue a woman in her 30s after she injured her foot and couldn’t walk out of a trail in Makiki.
The woman was hiking with her daughter when she slipped on some rocks and injured her foot on Maleka Trail about 2 p.m. Saturday, said Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
A man who was not with the two hikers called for help, then went out to Tantalus Drive to meet emergency responders.
Firefighters hiked in, carried the woman out on a stretcher, and transfered her to paramedics along the road by 4 p.m.
