Sen. Akaka en route to Washington after weekend treatment for dehydration
U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka was treated for dehydration on Saturday, but “is fine and headed back to work tonight,” a spokesman for the senator said.
Akaka’s family sought medical attention Saturday for the senator while he was in Honolulu, said Jesse Broder Van Dyke.
He was diagnosed with dehydration, and was cleared to fly, Broder Van Dyke said.
Akaka’s family is not releasing any further information, he said.
