Services for Sharon Black, former Honolulu Police Department outreach worker and homeless advocate, will be held Tuesday.
Black, 52, of Aiea, died at Hospice Hawaii in Kailua on April 5 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
An HPD outreach worker for more than 20 years, she also was founder of the Kau Kau Wagon, which provides lunch each Saturday to the disadvantaged at Chinatown Gateway Park.
She is survived by daughter Nicole Black; son Chez Black; mother Elaine Moresco; father Maurice Moresco; brothers Gary, Steven, Ronald and Sonny April; and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Honolulu Japanese Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2655 Manoa Road. Service is at 11. Casual attire.
