Mililani to host pop-up market
The "pop-up" concept is expanding from retail and restaurants to a farmers market with a one-time event in Mililani on Sunday featuring locally grown produce and cooking demonstrations.
The pop-up market debuts from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Kalani Gardens Apartments, 95-081 Kipapa Drive, with produce, eggs, honey and poi from at least three vendors and demonstrations by Gida Snyder and others. Food stamps will be accepted.
Kanu Hawaii, a nonprofit that promotes sustainable living, and the GreenWheel Food Hub, a group focused on bringing fresh produce to low-income areas, are partners in the project.
To find out where the mobile farmers market will pop up next, visit www.kanuhawaii.org or follow Kanu Hawaii on Twitter or Facebook.
