Stangel deemed fit to stand trial for Oahu shooting spree
A state judge found accused killer Toby Stangel fit to stand trial for murder, attempted murder and other charges today and scheduled trial in June for a shooting spree last year.
Circuit Judge Richard Perkins made the finding based on the reports of three mental health experts appointed last month to examine Stangel.
Stangel, 29, is facing murder and multiple counts of attempted murder, firearm and drug charges for allegedly going on a shooting spree on Oahu roadways last June 3 in which one motorist died from a gunshot wound to the head, two others were injured and four people others, including two police officers, were shot at.
