A 45-year-old man and his 7-year-old daughter were injured after falling off a cliff in Hana this afternoon.

The Maui Fire Department responded to the 4:10 p.m. alarm.

A fire official said the girl received head injuries and her father suffered leg injuries after falling 30 to 40 feet at Red Sand Beach in Hana. The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, a county spokesman said.

The Fire Department helicopter airlifted the girl at 4:45 p.m. and brought her father out 15 minutes later. They were brought to the Hana ballpark, then flown separately to a hospital.
