Rainbows end series with win
Pi’ikea Kitamura stayed hot with two hits and two RBIs and Hawaii picked up its fourth series win of the year with a 7-1 victory over UC Davis on Sunday at Les Murakami Stadium.
Lawrence Chew (2-1) allowed just two hits and an unearned run in six innings to earn the win for Hawaii (17-12), which won the final three games of the series.
Kitamura, who hit the game-winning single in an 11-inning victory on Saturday night, was 2-for-3 to finish the series hitting .467 (7-for-15) with four runs and four RBIs.
Stephen Ventimilia was 3-for-4 with a run scored and Kaeo Aliviado added an RBI single in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to six games.
The Rainbows will open their final season of Western Athletic Conference play on Thursday when they host Fresno State.
