Police: New Jersey thieves used Facebook to select victms
PARK RIDGE, N.J. >> Police in northern New Jersey say some suspcious Facebook posts have led them to a brother-and-sister burglary team.
Kimberly and Michael Edgerton are charged with crimes including burglary, receiving stolen property and hindering apprehension.
Police in Park Ridge, Bergen County, allege Kimberly Edgerton sent Facebook messages to find out when some of the victims would be away from home. They say the investigation led them to Michael Edgerton’s home, where they found burglary tools and an item matching the description of a stolen item.
Police say other stolen items were traced to Kimberly Edgerton.
The Record of Woodland Park reports Kimberly Edgerton was released on bail Friday, while her brother remained in custody on $15,000 bail.
